Travel Tips
- Best Time to Visit: December to April offers sunny weather and lively festivals. You can also stop in Barranquilla for the Carnavales in February! 🎉
- Getting Around: Taxis and Uber are common, but walking is the best way to explore the historic center. We really have never had an issue getting around.
- Currency: The Colombian Peso (COP) is used, so bring some cash as it's mostly used by small vendors. Otherwise you can pay with CC in most stores/restaurants.
- Safety: Cartagena is generally safe, but as always, stay aware in tourist areas and avoid unlicensed taxis.
- Local Experience: Visit a Palenque community to learn about Afro-Colombian culture and music 🎶
- Are you all packed? Because trust us—Cartagena is a dream destination you won’t want to leave! If we could visit every weekend, we totally would. Whether you're a foodie, history buff, or just here for the beaches (and the bikinis 😉), this city will leave you enchanted.
And if you ever find yourself soaking up the Cartagena sun, don’t forget to tag us—we’d love to see you bringing the Carasoles vibes to paradise!
Xx,
Carasoles 🌞
